Caramel Slice

Caramel Slice

 WHAT YOU NEED:

Base:
- ½ C firmly packed brown sugar
- 2/3 C desiccated coconut
- 2/3 C self raising flour
- 85g butter, melted

Filling:
- 30g butter
- 2 Tbs golden syrup
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk

Chocolate topping:
- 150g dark chocolate, melted

WHAT TO DO:

Start by making the base.

1. Stir together brown sugar, coconut and flour in large bowl.
2. Add melted butter. Stir until well combined.
3. Press into lined baking tray using the back of a spoon.
4. Bake in a 180 degree oven for 10-12 mins.

Your next step is making the caramel.

1. Place butter and golden syrup in a pan, stirring occasionally.
2. When butter has melted, add condensed milk.
3. Stir constantly over medium heat for 9-12 minutes until caramel thickens.

Just pour that caramel over the top of your base, and pop back in the oven for 10 minutes until you have lightly browned edges.

Then melt your chocolate in a microwave bowl and pour over caramel. Let it set in the fridge and then you’re done!
